Ce tableau de 2015, d’après une photo de mon ami Christian Bossu-Picat, illustre un retour d’école à Baie Malgache, Rodrigues. Cette image de ces enfants en uniforme rentrant chez eux à travers des sentiers dans la montagne nous avait touché. Christian et moi avons parcouru les routes de Rodrigues à la recherche d’image typique de cette belle île et partageons le même amour pour ces scènes de vie. La case en tole bleue, vestige d’une autre époque fait face à l’incroyable lagon Rodriguais.
This painting from 2015, from a photo by my friend Christian Bossu-Picat, illustrates a return from school in Baie Malgache, Rodrigues. This image of these children in uniform returning home through mountain trails touched us. Christian and I have traveled the roads of Rodrigues in search of typical images of this beautiful island and we share the same love for these scenes of life. The blue sheet metal house, a vestige of another era, faces the incredible Rodriguan lagoon.
